They always looked so painful to me. XD I'm not sure how it would look on a real animal (nor do I care to see that XD ) but I think it turned out pretty cool on this. I wonder if it would hurt to move around in one of those...
I personally have had corset piercings irl hence why my fursona has them and I can tell you at first yeah it hurts to like lean down but once they heal they don't hurt at all unless you have them tugged >.<
Yeah, I can imagine that hurting. XD What about infections? I'd think that those would be a pain to deal with once you first get them. Was it difficult to apply antibacterials? (since I'm assuming you'd do the same thing as ear piercings and such and medicate them for the first few weeks)
Yes! I do use some textures, usually something like a rust or concrete texture - typically set to overlay and about 30% opacity. I also add a soft drop shadow under all my characters or objects to blur the edges slightly. And, once I have finished coloring, I take all the layers and duplicate them, merge the duplicate layers together, then blur the layer slightly and play around with the layer styles. (I've had really good results with Overlay, Screen, and Color dodge)
All those things together really make the image feel much softer.
