Z Princess and Zenyatta

I had started this storybook style picture over a year ago, based on older Bambi style artwork.

I had debated whether I should paint the foal as Cozmic One or as Ziconic. I then set it aside and never quite found the time to finish it.

But in light of today's terrible news that Zenyatta's filly had to be put down, I felt it would be best to take the time to finish this as Zenyatta and Z Princess.

I had followed her story from day one and was looking forward to maybe someday seeing her perform on the track. It's a sad day.
